We've come to the last day here in Bhopal, and what a
program it was. Another cool morning would find us on our way to worship
services and bible classes where Jerris and I, P. Mark and P. David preached
and taught. At the end of the program we were honored with honorary shawls and
nice placards with our pictures. Later in the evening we went back to the church building for two more baptisms and had to wait while the baptismal was filling with water. (The government brings families water only once every two days for drinking water. So they use is sparingly). Afterward I ventured out solo with brother Das and his wife to
another small home where I taught a class, and enjoyed the fellowship and food of
the family in their small home. They invite you into their house, they smile and
give you their undivided attention. They have no alternative desires, they ask
for nothing, they just sit and listen, and then never want you to leave. The
small cell phone cameras of the children constantly trying to take every
picture with you, from every angle, with every person. There are just no words
to describe the experience. We now understand why Jerris and Juanita, "Dad" and "Mom," have been doing this for so many years. We all worked hard these last few days, every day.
Teaching, preaching, and baptizing from morning till evening. There is more
work to do in Delhi, and then some of the more remote places west and north of
here. Pictures below of all of the day’s events, and a few of our friends below
relaxing just a bit. Tomorrow we are off to Agra for a day, then to Delhi.
